2.6. Savings Suggestion
EXCO ONCE-OFF SAVINGS PROPOSAL
Subject: Proposal for Emergency Fund Contribution – August 2025
Dear Family Members,
As you are aware, our society has committed to supporting each other during times of bereavement, particularly where extended family members are not covered under the MTG Group Funeral Scheme. In such instances, we have agreed to contribute a total of R5,000 to assist the affected family.
However, this has placed a financial strain on members, as the required amount exceeds our current monthly contribution of R100.
Following a brief meeting held by the Executive Committee (EXCOR), it has been proposed that each member contribute a once-off amount of R150 in August 2025. This contribution will be used to establish an Emergency Bereavement Fund, which will serve as a reserve to assist immediately in the event of another loss involving an extended family member.
We believe this approach will ease the pressure of raising funds urgently and ensure that we continue to support one another effectively and with dignity.
We kindly ask all members to support this initiative and make the R150 once-off contribution by 31 August 2025.
Your cooperation and unity are appreciated.
Warm regards,
RV Baloyi ( Secretary)
On behalf of EXCO
